It follows the publication of the Government’s Industrial Strategy, that builds on the independent review of the AI industry with an Artificial Intelligence Sector Deal - which will focus on making the UK a global leader in AI as well as boosting productivity, safe and ethical use of data, skills and education.

The seminar also follows the recent announcement of £75m investment in AI in the Autumn Budget.

The agenda includes a keynote address from the review’s Joint Lead Professor Dame Wendy Hall, and contributions from Professor Phillip Nelson, Chief Executive, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and Chair, Strategic Executive, RCUK and Lord Clement-Jones, Chairman, House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence.

It will discuss the commercial potential in terms of revenue generation, efficiency and service provision - across manufacturing, retail, and the private and public services sectors - as well as where this is currently being achieved most successfully.
