Polymers: it’s all Ancient Greek to me!

On behalf of Heriot-Watt University, Professor Richard A. Williams OBE, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, invites you to attend the Inaugural Lecture of David Bucknall, Professor of Materials Chemistry.

There are a seemingly limitless variety of polymers that are already known, and potential for developing an equally large number of new polymers in the future. Given the huge variation in properties, it is little wonder that polymers are exploited in almost every aspect of our daily lives. The question that always arises is, which polymers to use?

In his inaugural lecture Professor Bucknall will explore the connection between polymer properties and their molecular structure and pose the reverse question – which polymers should we synthesise?

Wednesday 11 October 2017

Refreshments 4.30pm – 5.00pm
Lecture 5.00pm – 6.00pm
Followed by a drinks reception

Advance booking is required, please register for a free ticket and remember to cancel if you are no longer able to attend.
