Company-Led Engineering Design Projects

Company-Led Engineering Design Projects

Do you have an R&D idea but lack the expertise or resources to follow it up? We are keen to work with you on a company-led engineering design project to offer resource on projects out with your critical path. These projects also provide our Engineering students with relevant work experience as part of their degree studies to improve their experience and chances of employment upon graduation.

We are one of the UK’s leading universities in business and technology and produce more graduates per year in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics and built environment than any other Scottish university. Taking part in this initiative has no cost to your company and bright innovative engineers will work with you to make a real difference to your organisation.

The engineering design projects run from September to March each year and we are accepting project outlines now. They can focus on any company challenge, where there is a mechanical design aspect and are conducted by teams of 4 or 5 fourth year mechanical engineering students.

If you are interested in this initiative and need more information, please look here. You can also contact the project leader Dr Iain McEwan at by e-mail and you can use the template that you can access here in pdf format here or in Word format here to send us your ideas.
